What do you get when you cross opera, dance and libations? A ‘pants off’ kind of event.

This is one crazy little fundraiser. Opera on Tap and The Dirty, Sexy, Jazzy Ensemble will be trying to lose their pants in an all out opera-dance-a-thon in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Just at the entry level, you get swing dance lessons and a chance to lose your new levi’s.

So what is this benefiting?

First and foremost, this is to benefit OOT’s newest venture, Playground Opera Series, which brings opera to Brooklyn schools.

The Playground Opera Series is a school day program that immerses students in the creation, production and performance of an opera. With the guidance of professionals working in the field today, students explore the operatic experience from the first moment of an opera’s creation to the exciting culmination of its performance. The stage? Their own schoolyard playground.

So before they get to the kid’s playground, OOT is creating an adult one at the Old Stone House in Park Slope. Just for reading this, you get a chance to get a discounted rate!

Make sure you use the extra money to buy a libation because nobody likes to look silly or sound shrilly while dancing and singing without a beverage to lean on.

Secondly, this is to raise funds for a new opera that OOT has commissioned called The Inner Circle. This raucous, rowdy, risque, and unrelenting new opera is inspired by the life of sex researcher, Alfred Kinsey (known as the father of the sexual revolution), and will see it’s first notes sung at the end of June as part of the F*ckFest at the Brick.

No doubt a stage set to turn a few heads.
