New York, NY – Art Jewelry designer Gilbert Albert is pleased to announce their sponsorship of the Metropolitan Opera’s gala evening celebrating the new production premiere of Handel’s Giulio Cesare on April 4, 2013. Gilbert Albert will also be celebrating its 60th anniversary of design and creation in 2013.
Gilbert Albert, recently opened their New York City boutique at 43 West 57th Street. One of the store’s immediate goals was to support the arts in New York City. “Gilbert Albert believes the quest for excellence in opera and all the arts perfectly complements our own goal of producing the finest quality jewelry. It is with great pleasure that we are supporting the Metropolitan Opera’s gala this spring,” explains Majid Pishyar, Chairman of 32Group, owner of the Gilbert Albert brand.
The Met’s new production of Giulio Cesare, directed by David McVicar and conducted by Harry Bicket, stars David Daniels in the title role and Natalie Dessay as Cleopatra.
Gilbert Albert is an acclaimed artist, born and raised in Geneva, who has won countless awards for his designs, including ten prestigious Diamonds International Awards. Founded in 1962 by its namesake, Gilbert Albert, the brand is one of the world’s premiere jewelry houses known for its craftsmanship and the unique ability to transform natural elements into works of art. Each piece is a synergy between Gilbert Albert’s own passion for art and nature and his craft.
The three-story New York boutique displays necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, and pendants that are unique, one-of-a-kind works of art inspired by nature. Each piece combines gold and precious stones with a variety of natural exotic materials including crystals, meteorites, corals, shells, scarabs and, most inspiring of all, fossilized dinosaur bones. Many of Gilbert Albert’s pieces are adorned with both cabochon and rough cut stones, a contrast that is magnificent and rarely seen in fine jewelry. The pieces also use fulgurites, which are tubes of glass formed by the extraordinary release of energy when lightning strikes the desert sand.
This is not the first time the designer has been involved in the arts; Gilbert Albert and Prima ballerina Nina Ananiashvili together founded the prize “Star” for young ballet dance talents an annual award that has been presented since 2008 at the Rustaveli State Theatre in Tblisi, Goergia.
Although Gilbert Albert is new to the United States, the brand has already forged strong partnerships in such a short time with many great organizations like the United Nations and The Metropolitan Opera.
Gilbert Albert has boutiques in Geneva, Zurich, New York, Paris and Moscow. The most recent to open in New York City boasts three beautiful display floors, perfect for exhibiting these works of art. For more information and to view the Gilbert Albert collections please visit www.gilbertalbert.com.
