Glimmerglass Festival

Nestled along the north shorelines of Otsego Lake, on the outskirts of Cooperstown, New York, is one of the prime locations for summer opera in the Northeast: Glimmerglass Festival (previously known as Glimmerglass Opera). Under the exciting new leadership of Francesca Zambello, audiences will thoroughly enjoy a unique offering in the 2011 season. Glimmerglass Festival will not only offer it’s mix of traditional and off-the-beaten path operas, but will now include a musical theater work without amplification. The 2011 season includes: Carmen, Medea (Cherubini), Annie Get Your Gun, and a double bill, A Blizzard on MarbleHead Neck (Tesori- world premiere) and Later the Same Evening (Musto). The festival runs from July 2nd to August 23rd with a number of additional special performances, cabarets, concerts, lectures and symposiums. Ticket information below.
