Opera in the Heights is a vibrant and growing professional opera company whose home in the Houston Heights is a restored 1924 church sanctuary with exemplary acoustics. The intimate theatre affords each person a seat so close to the stage that every smile, tear, and nuance can be savored. Founded in 1996, Opera in the Heights presents four fully-staged operas with orchestra per season, with seven performances, including one matinee per opera. Each is sung in its original language with English surtitles projected above the stage.
