Non so piu cosa son – Le Nozze di Figaro – Mozart

OperaPulse’s Aria of the Week – Everyone remembers the awkward years of being an adolescent – unless of course you have forcefully blocked those memories! Not many individuals embrace adolescence as much as Cherubino does, one of opera’s famous “pants role.”

In this week’s aria, Non so piu cosa son, cosa faccio (I don’t know any more what I am, what I’m doing) from Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Cherubino laments of the fire for love that burns inside his young, adolescent heart. Check out these 9 past and present mezzos as they perform their version of a wound-up little boy. Do you have a favorite?
